Rudeness: How the Weak Imitate Strength

So often I have seen it. People try to grab onto power and claw back some self perceived control when everything else in their life has been allowed to get out of control... they do it because they feel powerless and weak in regard to their own choices, other people's treatment of them (and their choice to not assertively confront/deal with it), and their own choice to not try any harder, or think any differently. It's usually the weak or unhappy ones who inflict their rudeness or hate upon you, thinking it looks powerful and gives them the upper hand. How can you feel hurt by people like this when they do it without a reason or provocation? When you understand the psychology of this behaviour, all you can do is pity them and their inability to take accountability for their own life.
